The latest visit was the Brong Ahafo Region “C”. This was on Friday 18th July,2025. The event took place at the Victory Centre Assembly of God in Goaso. The first couple of the church were gracefully received by the Executive Committee led by the Regional Superintendent,Rev Stephen Osei Wusu and his wife.
High patronage
The programme was highly patronised by pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses as well as widows of deceased pastors. In attendance were the General Treasurer,Rev Dr Simon Abu Baba and his wife,Rev Mrs Gladys Abu Baba, the National Director of the Women Ministries. Participants gathered with joy and great anticipation owing to the impact of the first apostolic visit in 2023.
The General Superintendent in his usual style led participants to pray for almost four(4)hours.
The prayer session was segmented into four areas being repentance and rededication, thanksgiving and adoration as well as intercession and spiritual warfare amongst others. Pastors serving in distressed communities were singled out and prayed for as well as local churches whose building or temple projects had stalled owing to financial challenges.
Marriage vows
As part of his vision to strengthen the family life of pastors, Rev Wengam led married couples present to renew their wedding vows. It was a beautiful sight to behold seeing pastors and their spouses demonstrate pure romantic love at the altar.
The National President of the Ministers Wives Association Lady Mrs Monica Wengam used the occasion to fulfill her pledge of helping to alleviate the suffering of the vulnerable in the ministry by making significant donations to the widows of deceased pastors, retired ministers and their spouses and wives of all pastors present.
They received a piece of cloth and an undisclosed amount of cash each. Retired ministers also received a cash amount each. Each pastor’s wife was given a piece of cloth.
Sermon
Rev Wengam preached a sermon titled, “The Call To Transform Local Churches Into A House of Prayer(Matthew 21:12-15).He bemoaned the lack of strong prayer culture in the church in recent times leading to minimal impact of the church on the society. He cited the example of his local church, Cedar Mountain Chapel in Accra where intense prayer goes on daily.
He reminded pastors that prayer is the native air of the church that is why Apostle Paul called on Christians to pray without ceasing. The General Superintendent used the occasion to explain major decisions taken by the Executive Presbytery in recent times.
Appreciation
The Regional Superintendent,Rev Stephen Osei Wusu thanked the General Superintendent and wife for investing their personal financial resources in the development of the region.
He mentioned the construction of a legacy temple funded by the first couple, donation of 250 bags of cement to support their regional office project and the planting of churches in the region by Cedar Mountain Chapel.
The General Superintendent in the company of the General Treasurer visited the regional office project site. He commended the region for the progress made so far in the office project.
