The Lordina Foundation, a humanitarian organisation led by Ghana's First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, has made a significant donation of medical supplies and equipment to the Techiman North Constituency to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
The items were formally presented at a brief ceremony by Mrs. Mahama to the Member of Parliament for Techiman North and Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare.
Donation
Reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, Mrs. Mahama said the donation aligns with their broader goal of improving lives across the country, especially among children and women in deprived areas.
“We are dedicated to contributing to the development of deprived children and women in both rural and urban areas, focusing on quality healthcare promotion, education, and overall well-being,” she stated.
She further noted that the gesture demonstrates the Foundation’s belief in collaborative efforts as a pathway to sustainable development in Ghana’s health sector.
Receiving the items, Madam Ofosu-Agyare expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people of Techiman North.
“This contribution from the Lordina Foundation will play a pivotal role in bridging gaps in our healthcare system. It reflects our shared commitment to improving the well-being of our people,” she said.
Items
The donation, which includes a wide range of essential medical items, is part of the Foundation’s nationwide initiative to support under-resourced health facilities and empower medical personnel with tools to deliver quality, life-saving care.
Items presented include hospital and theatre beds, delivery beds, incubators, theatre lights, phototherapy machines, baby scales, syringes, gloves, and trolleys. Additional equipment such as wheelchairs, commodes, baby cots, baby carts, medical screens, baby baths, bedside cabinets, and overhead tables were also handed over.
This initiative further underscores the Lordina Foundation’s long-standing mission of supporting Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure and promoting the welfare of underserved communities.
