Scripture Union(SU) Ghana and Harmony Music hosted the fourth edition of Corporate Thanksgiving 2024 in Accra on Thursday, November 5.

The event was aimed at uniting professionals from various industries who are also involved in the gospel music ministry.

The annual thanksgiving service serves as a platform for worship, praise, and gratitude to God while fostering fellowship among believers from diverse sectors.

Significance

This year’s edition was particularly significant as it supported SU Ghana’s “Christmas Community Missions”. It is a five-day non-residential camp event scheduled for December. The programme focuses on outreach to young people in underprivileged rural and inner-city communities across the country, offering them hope while sharing the gospel.

Message

The General Director of SU Ghana, Reverend Derek Koomson, emphasised the importance of thanksgiving as a key to unlocking divine blessings. He encouraged attendees to cultivate a heart of gratitude, saying, "Giving thanks is necessary no matter the circumstances, as it is the password to greater heights."

He urged participants not to overlook the small blessings in life but to always remain appreciative.

Using the Biblical story of Jesus feeding over 5,000 people with five loaves and two fishes, he underscored how thanksgiving leads to divine multiplication, stressing, "As we give thanks today, may the Lord grant us surplus."

Rev. Koomson also reminded the congregation that God’s power can turn inadequacy into abundance. He encouraged them to put their trust in God, engage in sacrificial giving, and commitment to His work, as such acts lead to fulfillment and divine provision.

"For us to have fulfillment in life, we must partner with Jesus," he said.

Event

The Corporate Thanksgiving 2024 was a vibrant evening filled with powerful praise and worship sessions led by skilful gospel musicians, setting a tone of reverence and joy.

Also, renowned gospel artists and choirs performed soul-stirring songs, uniting the audience in celebration. There were dance performances and choreography.

The event raised awareness and support for the “Christmas Community Missions,” alongside prayers for workers, businesses, national peace and stability.
