The Chairman of the Planning Committee for the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, has cautioned Ghanaians against wearing any political party attire during the event on Tuesday July 1st,2025.
He stressed that the event is a national one hence participants must wear white or any other attire that portrays patriotism or features the national colours.
Mr Ankrah gave the warning on Thursday at the Media launch of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The event is on the theme “Reflect, Reset and Renew for National Prosperity.”
The chairman stressed that as the nation prepares for the event, it is imperative for Ghanaians to renew their commitment towards building a prosperous and peaceful Ghana for the next generation.
He told Ghanaians to avoid the culture of blame, greed and impunity and rather embrace truth, discipline and a shared sense of duty.
Journey
Mr Ankrah observed that the journey to spiritual renewal and National prosperity requires Ghanaians to remain committed and steadfast.
“We are challenged to reset, and abandon the culture of blame, greed and impunity and apathy and rather embrace truth, discipline and a shared sense of duty. We cannot continue doing things the same way and expect different results” he stated.
Making references to verses in both the Holy Bible and the Quran, Mr Ankrah reminded Ghanaians that unless the Lord builds the house the builders will do that in vain.
“As a National planning committee we are made up of leaders from diverse religious backgrounds and we work in absolute harmony without division, tension and pro bono or without pay” the chairman added.
He pointed out that “Ghana is worth praying for” and appealed to the media to help whip up public interest in the forthcoming event.
“Let us reflect, reset and renew for national prosperity, let us think deeply. Let us turn this day into Ghana's turning point. This is sacred moment. We are called to reflect from where we've come from as a people” Mr Ankrah observed.
