Comfort Akusung, a patient at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), is appealing for financial assistance to settle her outstanding medical bills after undergoing surgery.

According to Ms. Akusung, she was initially treated at Achimota Hospital and later referred to UGMC, where doctors determined that she needed urgent surgery.

The procedure was successfully conducted, but she now faces a bill of GH₵ 26,048.00, of which she has been able to raise GH₵ 17,200.80 pesewas by the help of her husband, relatives and donors and her outstanding balance is GH₵ 8,848.02 pesewas.

Appeal

"I am still at the hospital because of the remaining bills. Once I keep staying here, the bills keep compiling. I am pleading with anyone who can help me settle my bills," she said in an emotional tone.

Ms. Akusung is calling on individuals, organisations, and benevolent groups to assist her in raising the remaining amount so she can return home.
