Assemblies of God,Ghana has debunked reports circulating on Social Media suggesting that the church's General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, has stated that “LGBTQ is not an issue of national importance now.”

In a firm clarification, the Church has described the reports as false emphasising that at no point did the General Superintendent make such a statement or downplayed the importance of the ongoing national discourse on the LGBTQ+ issue.

Assemblies of God, Ghana, remains deeply committed to biblical principles and continues to uphold the scriptural stance on marriage and sexuality as designed by God , strictly between a man and a woman.

The church has always maintained a clear and uncompromising position on issues relating to morality and family life hence any  report suggesting otherwise was inaccurate and must be disregarded.
